In the digital age, we have information overload and sometimes it can be overwhelming and difficult to ascertain what is fact and what is merely fiction and sales tactics. As modern comforts and technologies increase, so too does our sedentary lifestyles and poor dietary choices.
Fitbody Squad is about developing healthier habits in relation to your fitness and diet in order to live a healthier, better quality life.
Being a part of this squad gets you your very own personal trainer/fitness coach, providing you with an exercise program, basic nutritional advice, the support, motivation, plan and knowledge to help provide solutions to your problems and help you achieve your health and fitness goals.
We want to see positive changes in relation to peoples health and fitness. We want our squad to make healthier decisions and to live a more active lifestyle, to celebrate and reward their bodies with movement. We want to see a reduction in the amount of people suffering from weight related health issues.
It is our mission to provide quality advice and guidance in relation to our clients fitness and nutrition. To provide realistic solutions to problems and obstacles and provide motivation and support to help our clients make better choices when it comes to their health.
‘Fitbody’ is the belief of a holistic approach to health. To have a balance between exercise, eating nutritious foods, looking after our mental health, and enjoying all the good things that life has to offer. It incorporates the mission to improve our health, fitness and reward our body with movement. A squad can be defined as a small group of people having a particular task. Here, our particular task is to improve our health by making better choices in relation to our physical activity and nutrition. So why did we specifically choose the word ‘Squad’ and not something else with a similar meaning? Look at your fitness coach’s surname. He was made for this. This squad is our community of like-minded individuals, all striving to reach our goals, led and supported by our fitness coach, your squad leader, Matthew Squadrito.
Exercise and nutrition go hand in hand when it comes to building and maintaining health and fitness. The Fitbody Squad logo consists of two intersecting circles which represent the combination of exercise and nutrition.
G'day, my name is Matthew Squadrito, but you can call me Matt. I'm from Sydney, Australia and so far I've completed 33 journeys around the Sun. During this time I have learned and experienced a lot that life has to offer. There have been ups and there have been downs and challenges throughout my life, but each experience has made me the man I am today. Experienced.
I have worked and studied in several different fields, working all sorts of hours, with all sorts of people, from all walks of life. Trying to squeeze in the time to make a quick meal or fit in a quick workout whilst trying to get a few decent hours of sleep. These are some of the many challenges I have dealt with in the past. One thing that has remained consistent throughout my life is my passion for physical activity and my passion for helping others.
I value good healthy nutritious foods, but I also believe in enjoying all the good things that life has to offer and that includes desserts (which are my fave...mmm cake...*drools*). You can eat cake, you can eat burgers, you can eat pizza, you can eat broccoli, just make sure whatever it is you eat, you eat in moderation based on your needs.
As for physical activity, I have been pretty active my whole life. I started playing football (soccer) from a very young age and have remained quite athletic and active ever since. I believe being active and moving our bodies isn't a punishment, it's a reward. You never truly appreciate something until it's taken away, and if you have ever had an injury, sore back or illness that kept you from moving freely, you know exactly what I'm talking about. So enjoy being able to move, celebrate and reward your body with movement!
I know it isn't always easy, sometimes life can get 'busy' and feel overwhelming or you may not be feeling the best mentally or physically (or both). I have suffered through my fair share of physical injuries as well as falling seriously ill in 2015 which kept me bedridden for 3 months. I have overcome many challenges and obstacles that life has thrown my way and if I can do it, there is no reason why you can't either. I will use my knowledge, experience and failures so you don't have to waste your time with the same mistakes I made. I will help you to make better choices.
I value education and believe we should never stop learning, so everyday I continue to study and plan new courses to improve my skills and knowledge. I believe working on the mind is just as important as working on the body. For those keeping track, my formal qualifications relating to fitness include:
